It all began...
...when two people were set up on a date and from out of nowhere, God created a wonderful union! After our first date, we were sure of one thing....that we would be together forever. Three months later we were engaged and nine months later we were married!
Two and a half years later, Hannah arrived. What a blessing she is to us. She is such a good helper to us and is a great role model for her siblings.
Shortly after that, our first boy was born. Reagan came into our lives and he is now our outdoors boy. He loves his camo and knives.
Then came our beautiful Abigail. She is our tenderhearted girl. She can get dirty or dress up with the best of them.
Madelyn came next. She is our little princess. Dresses, dresses and more dresses! She is our "snuggle bug".
Sebastian was our next blessing from the Lord. Our blonde bomber. He brings us so much joy to our family.
Our beautiful Payton blessed us on Labor Day 2019! We love her so much.
And lastly our latest blessing from the Lord is Dakota! He was born July 29th 2021!
God has blessed us with a beautiful family and we give Him all the glory!
The Bible says in Psalm 127:3:
"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward".
And we have been blessed. We have experienced heartbreak with two miscarriages, but we know that we will see them again in heaven and can't wait for that blessed day!

OUR HOMESTEAD DREAM REALIZED...
For the first twelve plus years of our marriage, we lived in a very nice house on a cul de sac. Great neighborhood. Great neighbors. But we always knew that we wanted to get out. We felted trapped. Our dreams of buying land and living a more self sufficient lifestyle grew stronger and stronger every year we lived there. One problem....we were pretty strapped and couldn't make the move.
One day we decided, after much prayer, to just put our house on the market and sell it. We would just trust in the Lord. To our amazement, it sold instantly for our asking price and we didn't even list it with a Realtor! Then our next problem arose. Where would we live? In a panic we rented the worst rental on the face of the planet. And to top it off, Sebastian was due to be born any moment.
Sebastian came. We had a home birth in our miserable trailer we were renting. We were pretty down. Everywhere we wanted to move fell through. That was when we received a phone call out of the blue on a property we had looked at months earlier. He told us that he had felt that we were the family that was supposed to have his land. He made us a wonderful deal and we moved into our twenty acre little homestead in August of 2013.
We can take no credit for anything. It was strictly the hand of God at work. It was a miracle. We've had many people ask how we picked up and moved to the country? How did we find such a wonderful piece of property? We have no answer other than to give God all the glory. He provided. He answered our many, many prayers. He comforted when we were downtrodden. He was our rock. That is why we will give Him the glory for all things in our life.

So why did we make this website?
One thing we really came to understand when we decided to get into a more simple way of living is that we didn't know very much. And we still have a long way to go. We relied on a ton of prayer and a lot of research. We are by no means near where we want to be, but we have gained a bunch of wisdom along the way. One of the most encouraging aspects of this journey was all of those who were willing to pray or give advice. We can't even begin to express our gratitude to all of those people.
And that is the reason for this website. It is to form a community of like minded people. We don't have all the answers, but we do have a lot of experience. And we want to share those experiences with you. There are many challenges for those who may be new to homesteading or homeschooling. Maybe we can be of some help.
There is also a lot of "noise" out there. Negativity abounds! You can easily lose focus or get discouraged. Our hope is that we can help you along your way. Don't let those voices get you down! You CAN DO THIS. And focus on the end goal....a fulfilling life. Simplifying has a way of reducing stress and bringing joy.
